A Midlife Reset: Real Tools, Real Connections, Real Change

Welcome to the Whiritoa Weekend Retreat – your chance to hit pause.

Not just to rest, but to learn how to support your changing body in a way that’s practical, sustainable, and actually works.

This isn’t just time out from everyday life – it’s time to get real clarity on what your body needs in midlife. We’ll unpack the “why” behind the overwhelm – the cravings, weight gain, fatigue, sleep issues and hormone chaos – and you’ll leave with a simple plan that makes sense for your life.

Why a Weekend?

After attending the Gwinganna Health Retreat in Australia, I saw the real magic happens when we stop rushing and connect with other women.

When we give ourselves time – not just for a day, but a full weekend to stop, step away from the noise, nourish and learn, magical things happen.

This retreat gives you the space to learn, rest, laugh, walk, cry (if you need to), eat well and recharge – surrounded by a small group of like-minded midlife women who truly get it.

The Experience

From Friday, November 28th - Sunday, 30th, hosted in Whiritoa, Coromandel, a peaceful and tranquil beach hidden between Whangamata and Waihi. Imagine waking up to the sound of waves, stepping outside for a swim or morning beach walk, exploring the surrounding beauty with incredible bush walks, then experiencing soul-filled days of food, learning and connection.

This is a weekend that’s about you.

The pace of the weekend is entirely up to you.

Go to bed early or stay up late.
Rise with the dawn or sleep til noon.

Bring your book, your knitting, your journal or your hobby and indulge your passions guilt-free.

This is your time, and while there’s plenty to do on a Wicked Wellbeing Retreat, you get to decide how much or how little you join in.

You’ll also have the option to book a massage during the retreat at an additional cost – perfect for a little extra relaxation.

This weekend, we fuel your body well.

We start each day with a nourishing breakfast — think chia puddings, eggs or wholesome muesli, all gluten-free and dairy-free to support your body and keep things simple.

Across the weekend, you’ll enjoy hands-on cooking sessions and taste a variety of delicious, healthy meals. It’s all about learning how to make food that feels good and works for your life, that you can recreate at home.

On Saturday night, we cook together. You’ll team up with others to help create the evening meal – discovering new skills, flavours, and the joy that comes from sharing food and laughter around the table.

Throughout the weekend, you’ll have options for gentle, restorative or energising movement.

From walks on the beach, to the local water hole or to a nearby beach, the choice is yours.

Go for a divine swim, join us for a bush walk, or do your own yoga on the deck and rediscover the joy of moving your body in nature, just because.

Plus, the energy of this weekend is really special. The luxurious location, the camaraderie of the group, the energy of coming together in shared commitment to our enhanced wellbeing, will leave you feeling refreshed, revitalised and ready to take on the world again.

You’ll leave the weekend armed with new friends, new knowledge, new recipes, new energy and a renewed commitment to your own health and wellbeing.

What You'll Learn:

This is not a retreat where you’re told what to do – this is where you’ll learn how to do it.

Over the weekend, you’ll get hands-on, practical experience creating everyday food that supports your hormones, gut, blood sugar and energy. We’ll dive deep into:

  • Understanding cravings – what's really going on and what to do about them, and given the right tools, discover how they don't need to control you
  • Fasting for women in midlife – the right way, the wrong way, and how to tailor it to you, and how tapping into our fat burning system could be your answer to longterm weight loss
  • Everyday whole food – not fancy, just simple and delicious, created by you so you learn
  • How to make your own sourdough & sauerkraut to support your gut health (and to save money!) – I'm all about the teaching so you can do it yourself
  • Incredible mindset shifts to slow down the rushing woman in you to reduce cortisol
  • Sleep, stress & nervous system support which are absolute key learnings for midlife women
  • Raw, real conversations about what you’re going through – with no judgment

You’ll leave not just feeling refreshed – but equipped and inspired to implement changes immediately when you get home.

An inspirational experience! It was the perfect opportunity to reset, do some much-needed reflection, try some new ingredients and dishes I hadn’t tried before, with time for exercise and relaxation too. We’ve done so much in one weekend, and yet it hasn’t felt pressured or busy at any time. Thanks Wick, this has been a much needed turning point.

A wonderful weekend that took me out of my comfort zone but I’m so glad it did. Meeting like-minded women, cooking together, exercising/moving together and laughing together. I have reconnected with myself and am leaving with my cup full.

A revelation in how easy it can be to eat well by breaking it down into manageable tasks. A great weekend away with the right amount of information sharing, downtime, laughs and companionship.

Hi, I'm Wick

I know what it’s like to hit midlife and feel like your body’s changing faster than you can keep up – the weight gain, the cravings, the exhaustion, the mood swings. I’ve been there myself, and I’ve worked with so many women who feel the same.

I created these retreats because I’m passionate about helping women understand what’s really going on – and showing them simple, practical ways to feel better. Not surface-level advice, but real tools that fit into real life.

I’m a certified Fast Like a Girl Coach with Dr. Mindy Pelz and founder of Wicked Wellbeing, where I support midlife women through food, fasting, gut health, and lifestyle shifts that actually work. What lights me up most is teaching the why and how behind the symptoms – in a way that’s hands-on, down-to-earth and fun.

These retreats are where everything comes together – education, movement, great food, and the power of being with other women who get it. You’ll leave feeling clear, connected, and ready to take on this next stage of life with confidence.
