From Hangry To Healed: My 3 Day Fasting Experience

I Just Did Something I Never Thought I Could Do…

Honestly, I still can’t quite believe it!

Last week, I completed a 3-day water fast—and not only that, I led about 20 amazing women through it with me.

If you’d told me a few years ago I’d be leading a fasting group and actually going three days without food, I would’ve laughed! I was that person who always ate breakfast. I carried snacks everywhere I went. Thought I had to eat 6 times a day to speed up my metabolism. If I didn’t eat every couple of hours, I got seriously hangry (just ask my husband). The thought of going even half a day without food? No way! 

But I had a reason—and a big one. I’ve had tennis elbow for years. Nothing I tried worked. My next step was cortisol injections or shock wave therapy. But I wanted to heal it naturally. I knew from my fasting training that around the 72-hour mark, your body starts regenerating stem cells and healing in a deep, cellular way, where your body can actually heal stubborn injuries.

So I thought, why not give it a go? What did I have to lose? 

Well, did I love it all the time? No!
Was it hard at times? Yes!
Did it really test my will power? Yes!
Did I really go without food for 3 days and only drink water? Yes!! (I also had herbal tea)

On the morning of Day 4, I woke up with no elbow pain. Genuinely none. I was blown away. I haven't been able to do biceps curls for years. I can now do bicep curls. I have no idea if it will come back and I haven't been on the tennis court yet but I can't feel it. 

But here’s the freakin crazy part—pain I sometimes got in my caesarean scar with certain movements (coughing, sitting up quickly from lying down, rolling over too fast) would sometimes pinch me in my scar and cause intense pain. That has completely gone!! That wasn’t even on my radar to heal

Plus, I lost 2kg (that’s 4kg total this year). It wasn't my primary goal but it's definitely a bonus. I honestly feel like I’ve pressed the reset button on my whole body and am starting from a clean slate. The way I explained it to my membership ladies at the end of the 3 days was, imagine you've just cleaned your fridge and it's sparkling, now you get to choose what you put back in your fridge. I can honestly say there’s no way I could’ve done this on my own—doing it alongside the amazing women in my Wicked Healthy Tribe made all the difference (and I know they felt the same).

I used to think fasting was extreme. Now I know it’s one of the best tools we have as women—especially in perimenopause and menopause. It balances hormones, reduces inflammation, burns fat, boosts mood, clears brain fog, and helps our bodies heal.

I never thought I’d be teaching fasting… but here I am, living proof of what’s possible when you just try.
