Better Sleep, More Energy, and 5kg Down – Jo’s Health Turnaround in 3½ Weeks
Sep 24, 2025
Jo was at a crossroads. At 59, a flight attendant with all the challenges of jet lag, irregular hours, and postmenopausal symptoms, she found herself stuck. The weight gain, sleepless nights, and constant sugar cravings were becoming too much, but she didn’t know where to turn. Fasting wasn’t something she ever thought was “for her,” but she reached a point where something had to change. That’s when Jo decided to take a leap, clean out her pantry, and dive into the Wicked Healthy Tribe lifestyle. Here's her story.
Q: If you’re open to sharing, how old are you and what stage are you at in menopause?
I’m 59, turning 60 in March. I’m postmenopausal.
Q: What problems were you facing before starting your fasting journey?
I was struggling with weight gain and poor sleep (which was made worse by my irregular work hours as a flight attendant). On top of that, I found myself constantly craving sugar.
Q: Had you ever tried fasting before?
Never. I didn’t think fasting was for me, but I reached a point where I knew I had to try something different.
Q: Where did you start with fasting?
I decided to just jump in. I began by simply pushing out my breakfast each day.
Q: Did you have to make major changes to your lifestyle?
Yes, I went cold turkey with removing refined sugar, gluten, and processed foods. I committed to walking for about 45 minutes most days—both for myself and for my dogs. I also cleared out my pantry and restocked it with gluten-free products, nuts, seeds, low-carb options, baking ingredients, and everything I needed to embrace the Wicked Healthy Tribe lifestyle.
Q: What results have you experienced?
In just 3½ weeks (since 26 August 2025), I’ve lost 5kg. I’m sleeping better, have more energy, my skin looks amazing, and overall I feel like I’m in such a better place.
This really is life changing, a life reset experience and I am so glad I took the plunge. I look at food in a completely different way now.
Q: How did joining the tribe support your fasting journey?
Joining the Tribe was essential. Having all the resources on the app made it so much easier, and making the time to watch the videos has been invaluable. Wick’s personal attention and support have really confirmed I’m on the right path. The 1:1 session when I joined was a game-changer—asking thought-provoking questions and putting together a plan that felt completely doable. Plus, knowing Wick and the Tribe are there for questions and encouragement makes it feel like one big supportive team.
Q: What parts of the membership were the most helpful?
Definitely the videos, Wick’s 1:1 support, and the recipe vault—I use the recipes almost daily.
Q: What kept you motivated?
I kept reminding myself why I was doing this. Writing a food diary helped, and I’d often ask myself, “Can I push this fast out by just half an hour today?” I still allowed myself treats when I wanted them, but I learned to be mindful about what I chose and how to minimise blood sugar spikes.
Q: Did you face any challenges?
Not yet—but I’m sure they’ll come at some point.
Q: Do you think you could have done this on your own?
Absolutely not. There’s no way I would have started this journey without the guidance of Wick and the Wicked Healthy Tribe.
Q: What advice would you give to someone starting fasting?
Don’t put it off—just start. Join the Wicked Healthy Tribe, watch the videos, get involved in the Facebook group, prep your pantry, do a little baking, and step into the healthiest version of yourself.
