She Was Offered Weight Loss Injections. She Said "No". Here's What She Did Instead
Jul 13, 2026
In early March, Sarah sat in her doctor's appointment heavier than she'd ever been, with stuck weight that wouldn't move. Her doctor offered her weight loss injections. Most people would have taken them.
Sarah did the opposite.
What happened over the next few months wasn't a quick fix. It was a full shift in direction in how she eats, how she thinks about food, and how she treats herself. Here's her story, in her own words.
Q: What was going on for you before you started?
The weight, but not only the weight. I was heavier than I'd ever been, but I also had sore joints, fatigue and a lack of energy, a foggy mind and an inability to focus, amongst other things. It was all piling up.
Q: Your doctor offered you weight loss injections. What made you say no?
That conversation freaked the heck out of me. He said, "If you don't find anything that works, there's always the weight loss injections". I left that appointment with a determination to put me first. No drugs, just me doing what is right for my health and taking back control.
Q: So what did you do instead?
I joined the Wicked Healthy Tribe in February and decided to join into every workshop, group session, programme, whatever came up. I was so eager to learn and turn things around. Since March, I've done a 10 day CGM trial, two carnivore resets, multiple extended group fasts, a 12 week coaching course, the forever rebuild, and continued fasting every week. I had never fasted before, not knowingly or how to do it strategically.
Q: What results have you had?
Since March, I'm 10kg down. But the weight lost is one big bonus, all the other changes are far more life changing for me. I've eliminated joint stiffness and pain, improved my brain sharpness all day with no more brain fog, and totally overcome cravings and bad food choices as a first go to. My blood results have all improved since last year and I am living life feeling like me again.
Q: What's the biggest shift that isn't on the scales?
Letting go of perfection. I've learnt to allow myself grace when life gets busy and no longer aim for the all or nothing mindset. Choosing best options is now my default and I'm at ease doing so. We went to the movies and I enjoyed the choc covered ice-cream with a small popcorn without guilt, and didn't leave feeling like I'd fell off the wagon. That was my old self talk. This mind shift is huge for me and the stress around food has changed dramatically. 80/20 means life can still happen without guilt.
Q: What's your “why”?
Aging fit, healthy and strong. With the energy and mobility to enjoy long walks and running around with my grandchildren for many years to come. The empowerment I've been given back for myself is priceless.
Q: Was there a turning point?
It was something Wick said to me. I'd explained how stuck my life was feeling at that time, and she was so kind yet firm and honest. She said, “I can give you the tools Sarah but only you can make the changes, only you can make it happen. How committed are you?” No one else had offered me this before. From that question, I made a promise to myself that I was committed to change.
Q: Could you have done this on your own?
I could not have done this without what Wick has taught me. Her approach is honest, down to earth and simple. She supplies us with so much information and tools and cheerleads us along the whole way. But you yourself have to commit, as only you can do this for you. And the community of women became my cheerleaders – there's something very powerful about doing this alongside other women on the same journey.
Q: What would you say to a woman sitting where you were in March?
It's hard getting started but by gosh it is so worth it. If you're still on the fence, believe me, investing in yourself will be the greatest gift ever. If I can get here, anyone can. You are so worth it.
Sarah Hunt
Sarah's story means so much because of the choice she made. She was given the "easy" option and chose the harder, lasting one instead. Months later she's 10kg down, off the path toward medication, and living life feeling like herself again – empowered.
There's nothing wrong with needing support to get there. That's the whole point. Sarah didn't do it alone, and you don't have to either.
Sarah's had a five month journey so far, and what she's learned has been a lot. Six weeks won't hand you every tool she's picked up along the way, but it's an incredibly powerful place to start, and it starts with the thing that changes everything: teaching your body to switch its own GLP-1 back on and understanding what's switching it off.
That's exactly why I'm running my 6 Week In-Person GLP-1 Reset. It's for women 40+ who want to understand how their body produces its own GLP-1, the exact hormone so many women are now choosing to inject. Over six weeks you'll learn one simple tool at a time, that will build on top of the other, whilst learning alongside a small group of women in the same stage of life, with a cuppa on the go. I want to bring women into a room because I feel like we're losing in person connection and it's incredibly powerful when doing health together.
Starting Wednesday 12th August, 7:30-8:30pm at Epsom Community Centre. Numbers are limited and early bird pricing is available.
